User Password Reset

Action compatibility

This action is compatible with Azure AD accounts but cannot be used against federated and B2B accounts.

Action Description

This action will reset the user's password to a temporary, randomly generated password by updating the account's password profile. This temporary password must be changed at the next login.

When to use this action?

This functionality can be used to generate initial passwords for first-time usage or if the user cannot use the Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) functionality. Please note the action's incompatibility for federated accounts.
